The 4th Jamgon Kongtrul, Migyur Drakpa Senge, was born on December 17, 1995, in the Kathmandu Valley as the son of Beru Khyentse Rinpoche.
From the age of five, Jamgon Yangsi began reading books and memorizing the rituals and practices of his own spiritual lineage. He received numerous Vajrayana empowerments—primarily within the Karma Kagyu tradition—as well as various transmissions related to guru yoga and other essential practices. In addition, he has received the teachings, transmission, and oral instructions of Mahamudra.
His Eminence Beru Khyentse Rinpoche was born in 1947 in Nyithang, Central Tibet. He was recognized by His Holiness the 16th Karmapa as the reincarnation of the First Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, the great tertön (treasure revealer) and founder of the 19th-century Rimé (non-sectarian) movement.
His Eminence Beru Khyentse Rinpoche is considered an emanation of Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom. In his previous incarnations, he was reborn as the great scholar Vimalamitra and the extraordinary master Gampopa.
Rinpoche fled from his traditional seat in Nangchen Kham, Eastern Tibet, to Nepal. He went on to establish numerous Dharma centers and communities in Mainpat and Madhya Pradesh, as well as in Manang and Kathmandu in Nepal, and Bodhgaya in India. Today, his students and centers can be found throughout the world, both in the East and the West.
Our meditation practice follows the instructions of our revered teachers within the authentic, unbroken Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.
